Welcome to a brief history of Longnor in Shropshire.

The idea came out of a chance conversation at a village get-together. Someone mentioned they had old photographs they wanted to share, and we thought it would be nice to compile a history of the village.

Since then we’ve spent many enjoyable hours engrossed in fascinating stories. The result was a Longnor History Exhibition held in May 2024, and this website.

We know we’ve only just scratched the surface; this is very much the starting point of the Longnor History Project. Over time we’ll be adding more details. If you are interested in joining us, or have stories to share, please do get in touch.
